About the platform
Khirat Al Dar

Khirat Al Dar is a digital platform launched by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship as a pilot phase to support and empower home business owners in Jordan by providing an integrated environment that helps them market their products in a modern and effective way.

The platform targets women and youth working in home products and handicrafts, as well as small and medium enterprises. It offers each participant a dedicated online store, secure electronic payment solutions, and convenient delivery services. Additionally, the platform provides marketing and advertising support, as well as specialized training programs in digital marketing, pricing, and technical skills development. This enables business owners to grow their enterprises and enhance their competitiveness. The pilot phase of the platform targets the governorates of Jerash, Balqa, and Karak in collaboration with the Souq Fann platform, with plans to gradually expand across the entire kingdom to stimulate the local economy and promote digital trade.

Selection criteria for home businesses and handicrafts to join the Khirat Al Dar platform

Khirat Al Dar will provide specialized training and guidance for those interested in joining the platform to develop knowledge and skills in product design and development, handicrafts, marketing, packaging, shipping, and all aspects of selling through online platforms. Therefore, a set of criteria must be met by participants to ensure maximum benefit from the program.

1. Quality and authenticity of products

Khirat Al Dar supports locally handmade products by home business owners in Jordan. The platform team places great importance on verifying the source and quality of products to meet local and international market standards and buyer needs, reflecting authenticity and the spirit of local production. Additionally, products intended for human use, such as food and cosmetics, must comply with public health and safety standards.

2. Creativity and innovation in design

According to sales studies in local and international markets, the best-selling products are those that are practical, functional, unique, and modern in appearance. Therefore, we prefer products that are new, innovative, and creative in design and functionality while reflecting the authenticity and local Jordanian culture. The products should also align with the platform's categories, including beauty and wellness products, accessories and jewelry, home and living accessories, stationery, clothing and bags, kitchen and hospitality essentials, and homemade food/products.

3. Seriousness and Commitment

Sellers on the platform are required to maintain quality standards, meet deadlines, and ensure that their products are available upon request with high quality and within set timelines. The platform relies heavily on sellers' commitment to quality. Before collaborating with any supplier, their reliability and ability to reproduce selected products in suitable quantities and high quality are assessed. This includes reviewing their past achievements, experience in production or sales (whether offline or through platforms), readiness to participate in training programs, engagement with learning opportunities provided by the platform, and openness to feedback, improvement, and continuous development.

All criteria are linked to sub-criteria and evaluation models that assign scores to applicants.
