The beginning of the "Batekha" project stemmed from my need for a notebook to organize my thoughts and daily tasks. The primary motivation behind the idea was my desire to have this notebook symbolize our cultural identity. Deeply influenced by my mother's love for handmade embroidery and the support from family and friends, I combined these elements with my experience in local and handmade industries. Together with my team, we designed and produced our first product, marking the start of our inspiring journey.
Our project is built on reinterpreting the story of handmade embroidery and Arab culture through the luxurious embroidered pieces we offer. Each piece is designed to reflect cultural and heritage symbols, blending traditional embroidery with contemporary designs. The store's name symbolically references the Palestinian flag, which has been banned since the Naksa of 1967.
We currently offer embroidered notebook covers made from materials such as silk (DMC), Aida cloth made in the West Bank, and other fabrics depending on the design. All materials are of excellent quality and carefully selected. The embroidery is handmade, and the production is meticulously local. The production process takes 6 to 8 days, depending on the design and quantity.
