Maryam Al-Bitar is 35 years old. The mother of two children, her husband unfortunately passed away many years ago. Maryam lives in the Jabal Al-Taj area of Jordan’s capital of Amman, where she graduated from the College of Finance and Banking. However, despite the fact that she did not study art in college, she started her own project in 2004, which is based largely on painting and coloring ceramics. Ceramics are a difficult canvas to work on: their artistic process requires many stages, beginning with the design and outline, followed by coloring. After that, the ceramics are placed in an oven before entering the cutting stage. Finally, they undergo installation. Yet, despite these many steps and the challenges that come with them, Maryam proceeds with optimism and consistently produces promising and valuable final products.
