Isabel Fleury, a 55-year-old French housewife with six children, lives with her husband in Amman, Jordan. Here, she began to feel the suffering of the people, especially of refugees and the daily hardships they face from the tragedy of the Syrian War. She saw that they needed work to keep them busy and provide some form of income, which led her to the idea of knitting. With Isabel’s leadership and encouragement, nearly 40 women meet each week to exchange conversations and laughter while knitting wool and making wonderful products to share with the world. The experience has been flooded with beautiful memories and wonderful stories from all of the women, whose products Isabel helps to sell in her native France or in Jordan, helping provide financial return for these women and their families. In fact, Isabel’s entire family helps her cause without exception, which fills their house with much love and joy despite all the difficulties and challenges they face.
