Nowwar al-Shamaileh is a self-described lover of photography who has a “constant need to be a seeker for new possibilities in life”. She found that most people are interested in the Arabic theme around photography but the product market for this aesthetic is thin. When she was researching the photography field, Nowwar found that these sort of photos were almost non-existent in sites that sell printed photography content from around the world. She began the Nowwara Project under this idea in order to bring Arabic inspired themes into the spotlight. The Nowwara Project focuses on Arab and Islamic archeological aspects, through electronic content and printed items, as a way to document Arab civilization. As she was trying to produce a livelihood for the photographers, the project was in-progress for a year in order to give the founders time to search for the best print materials and qualified photographers to join the team. The team working with Nowwara at the moment consists of Duaa Qasem on PR and the designer Yousif Husawi. Nowwara is not just selling photographs; they are documenting culture.
