Huda Jabr lives in Irbid along Syria’s southern border, which she crossed as she fled the war that was raging in in her home city of Daraa. The violence forced her to move south with her husband and two children to Jordan. When they arrived in Irbid, Huda quickly realized that she could not stay in the house without doing any work. So, she started looking for specialized associations in Irbid, which give workshops or training that teach skills needed to pursue a profession that can bring financial return. Eventually, Huda was able to find a specialized training center, which she immediately joined, focusing on the skills of making soap and wax until they were able to develop. With these new skills, Huda launched her own small project in 2017, which helped sell larger quantities of products and expand the scope of their work over time. However, Huda is faced with the problem of rising prices of raw materials and weak marketing.
